3. Tomato sauce – Freshly chopped tomatoes and tomato sauce should be used in lasagna. Tomato sauce will add flavour and a rich fragrance to the dish.

4. Onion and garlic – When an onion and two cloves of garlic are cooked with the meat, it will add lots of flavour.

5. Cheese – You can use different types of cheese, like mozzarella cheese, grated Parmesan cheese, and cheddar cheese. Cheese that adds depth of flavour and creaminess to the lasagna. 

6. Italian seasonings – Italian seasonings like dry basil, parsley, and chilli flakes add freshness and aroma to the dish.

  • 3 cups of meat
  • 1 package lasagna noodles
  • 1 medium finely chopped onion
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • 2 finely chopped tomatoes
  • 1 cup tomato sauce
  • 1 cup tomato paste
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • ½ sugar
  • 3 tablespoon chopped parsley for garnishing
  • 1 beaten egg
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper

  • 2 cups mozzarella cheese
  • 2 cups grated Paremesan cheese

How to make lasagna ?

Instructions:

1. Preheat the oven to 400 degrees and grease a deep baking dish; set aside.

2. Gather all the ingredients together and In a pan, cook Italian sausage or meat over medium heat until the meat turns brown. Add the onions and garlic, and cook for 2 minutes until the onions are translucent. 

3. Stir in the tomatoes, tomato paste, tomato sauce, Italian seasoning like 2 tablespoons parsley, basil leaves, 1 teaspoon black pepper, 1 teaspoon salt, chilly flakes, and a pinch of sugar, and let it cook for about 10–15 minutes.

4. In a mixing bowl, combine the add ricotta cheese, cheddar cheese, mozzarella cheese, and grated Parmesan cheese. Add eggs, ½ teaspoon salt, and 2 tablespoons parsley.

5. Cook the lasagna noodles according to the package directions, or cook the lasagna noodles in boiling water for 10 minutes. Drain the excess water and set it aside. 

6. In a baking dish, spread 1 cup of meat sauce on the bottom and place lasagna noodles on top of the meat sauce. Spread ½ cup of the mozzarella and ricotta cheese mixture. Top with a cheddar or mozzarella cheese slice. 

7. Repeat the layer of meat sauce, lasagna noodles, and ricotta cheese mixture until you have used all of your prepared ingredients. End with a sprinkle of grated Paremesan cheese and mozzarella cheese.

8. Cover the baking dish with aluminium foil, make sure the foil does not touch the cheese layer, and bake in the preheated oven for 20–30 minutes.

9. Remove the aluminium foil and bake for an extra 10 minutes until the cheese is melted. Take it out of the oven and let the lasagna cool for 5–10 minutes before serving. Your homemade lasagna is ready.
